Your Role
We are seeking a senior operations and legal project management leader to drive excellence in service delivery across Fieldfisher X and the wider Fieldfisher network. This strategic hybrid role blends operational leadership, legal project management expertise, team development, and innovation management.
As the Head of Operations & Project Management, you will lead and develop Fieldfisher X’s operations team while guiding a global group of legal project managers. You will play a central role in shaping scalable processes, embedding legal technology, and delivering measurable value to partners and clients. This includes hands‑on involvement in complex, multi‑jurisdictional matters, ensuring efficiency, clarity, and high‑quality outcomes.
The ideal candidate combines legal industry insight with strong process management, people leadership, and a passion for innovative, technology‑enabled service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Strategy & Execution
- Design and implement scalable operational frameworks aligned with Fieldfisher X’s innovation‑driven service model.
- Lead cross‑functional initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction
- Collaborate closely with the Head of Data & Technology and the AI Director to ensure tool alignment and data‑driven decision‑making.
- Collaborate with leadership to define performance metrics and management dashboards.
- Ensure operational compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support business planning and profitability tracking for existing and emerging services.
2. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and build a high‑performing team of operations and legal project management professionals.
- Establish team standards, quality frameworks, and best practices for project delivery.
- Design and deliver training programs on project management methodologies, legal operations, and process optimization.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and agile working.
- Lead Recruitment and onboarding for operations and project management roles.
3. Legal Project & Program Management
- Oversee complex, multi‑jurisdictional and high‑value projects requiring structured project management approaches.
- Define project scopes, resourcing models, budgets, timelines, risks, and reporting structures.
- Drive adoption of project management tools, templates, and methodologies across practice groups.
- Establish KPIs and reporting mechanisms to measure delivery efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities for process optimisation, automation, and standardisation across legal workflows.
